Name the problem
Choose one recurring task. Write down what triggers it, who performs it, how often it happens, and where mistakes or delays occur.
Define the first win
Complete this: “When [trigger] happens, [person] can [useful action], evidenced by [observable result].” A login or configured tool is not the outcome.
List dependencies
What accounts, permissions, files, instructions, and approvals does the workflow require? Who owns each dependency?
Plan the human handoff
Decide which decisions require review and what happens if a step fails. Make failures visible to a named owner.
Measure a real run
Record hands-on effort before and after. Verify output quality and support required. Expand only after the small workflow works repeatedly.
