Give AI a useful brief about your business

Build a reusable context sheet so your next request starts with the right information.

Make this: A reusable business context file

A one-page brief you can paste before future requests, with verified facts separated from unknowns.

What to copy

Copy the prompt blocks below. Replace every [bracketed field] with your information. The worked example shows how the result should look; it is not your business information.

1. Gather your inputs

Your offer details, audience, delivery scope, voice examples, and any evidence you may share.

Open ChatGPT or Claude and start a new conversation. These instructions use ordinary text chat. No coding, connectors, or paid automation setup is required by this guide; account limits vary.

2. Copy, fill in, and send this prompt

Click Copy prompt, paste into the chat box, fill the fields, then send. Include only information you are allowed to share.

Build a reusable business context document from my notes.
BUSINESS: [name and what we do]
CUSTOMER: [who, situation, and problem]
OFFER: [deliverables and exclusions]
CONFIRMED TERMS: [price, timing, availability, or unknown]
EVIDENCE: [approved examples, results, and source links]
VOICE EXAMPLES: [two or three real sentences]
NEXT STEP FOR CUSTOMERS: [action and verified link]
NOTES: [additional source material]

Return these sections: customer situation; offer and scope; verified facts; voice guidance with examples; next step; unknowns requiring my input. Keep it concise enough to reuse. Do not invent results, pricing, guarantees, scarcity, or customer quotes. Label assumptions. Finish with three checks I should perform before treating this as approved context.

3. Compare with a worked example

Illustrative input: Business: fictional North Street Photo.
Offer: half-day product photography session.
Audience: local shops with inconsistent product images.
Includes: planning call, shoot, selected edited images.
Price and image count: not confirmed.
Voice: “Bring the products. We’ll plan the shots together.”

Example output, written to demonstrate the format

Business: North Street Photo (fictional example)
Customer: Local shops needing consistent product images.
Offer: Half-day photography session with a planning call, shoot, and selected edited images.
Verified from supplied notes: Session length and included stages.
Unknown: Price, final image count, delivery timing, booking link.
Voice: Direct and collaborative. Example: “Bring the products. We’ll plan the shots together.”
Customer next step: Not yet supplied. Do not publish an invitation until confirmed.
Approval checks: Confirm scope; fill in commercial terms; verify the booking link.

4. Fix a weak first draft

Stay in the same conversation so the assistant can refer to its previous answer. Choose the follow-up that matches the problem.

Turn the approved brief into a request for [task]. Include only context relevant to that task. Keep unknown terms marked unknown and list any decision I must make.
Update this brief using the new facts below. Show what changed, flag conflicts with the old version, and leave unverified claims out: [new facts].

5. Finish and use it

Read each fact against your own records. Fill the unknowns, add an owner and review date, then save as business-context.md. Paste it into a new chat before your next task.
